TheTravellingMan.org brings together perspective, practical thinking, and a lifetime in travel. These frequently asked questions offer a clearer picture of who I am, how I work, and the kinds of conversations, collaborations, and projects I’m most often involved in.
I am an international business leader, strategic adviser and board director with almost five decades of experience across travel, tourism, destinations, visitor experiences and travel technology. A former global tour operating CEO, I now work with leadership teams, boards, founders and investors, alongside my roles as a speaker, moderator, writer and host of the In Conversation with… series.
TheTravellingMan.org is my platform for advisory work, writing, speaking and industry conversations across travel, tourism, culture and the visitor economy. It brings together professional perspective, practical thinking and ideas drawn from a lifetime in travel.
TheTravellingMan.org is the public-facing platform for my travel, tourism and visitor economy work. This includes advisory assignments, speaking, writing, interviews and selected collaborations. Professional and commercial activities are undertaken through MSP Concepts Ltd.
MSP Concepts Ltd is the company through which I conduct my professional and commercial activities. Its work includes TheTravellingMan.org, which focuses on travel, tourism and advisory activity, and MySignatureParty, which creates bespoke events and live experiences.
My perspective is grounded in many years of real leadership and operational experience in international travel businesses. I do not come at the sector from a purely advisory angle. I have built, led, and helped shape travel businesses from the inside, which means I tend to bring both practical judgement and strategic perspective.
I work with travel, tourism, cultural and experience-led organisations on strategy, growth, positioning, proposition development, visitor experience, partnerships and commercial alignment. I am often most useful when senior teams need an experienced external perspective to clarify options, test assumptions and support better decisions.
I typically work with founders, CEOs, leadership teams, boards, investors and industry organisations. Engagements may involve a continuing advisory relationship, a defined project or support around a particular decision or period of change.
My experience spans escorted touring, inbound tourism, cruising, shore excursions, sightseeing, destinations, city experiences, guiding, cultural attractions, tourism technology, visitor experience, and broader experience-led businesses.

In Conversation with… is an interview series I host with senior leaders and people shaping travel, tourism, culture and visitor experiences. It is aimed at travel and tourism professionals, industry leaders, destination figures, cultural organisations, and others interested in thoughtful, relevant discussion about how the sector is evolving.

Every situation is different, but most relationships begin with a conversation. Some lead to informal advisory support, others to a more defined project, speaking engagement, interview format, or longer-term collaboration.
The best place to begin is with a simple conversation. Whether the opportunity relates to advisory support, speaking, interviews, writing, collaboration, or a selected travel project, TheTravellingMan.org is intended as a place to connect and explore where there may be a good fit.
If something here feels relevant, please get in touch. Good conversations often lead to interesting opportunities.
